“The simple Ave Maria, accompanied only by piano, was moving in its gentle pleading, (Teresa) Fernández holding out long lines with amazing breath control.”
“Impressive and very enjoyable - two great sopranos singing Ave Maria - Teresa singing the Gounod and Callas singing the Schubert!” Brian Hailes.
“The concert was lovely. Your Madame Butterfly piece actually moved me to tears.” “El concierto fue adorable. Tu Madame Butterfly realmente me hizo llorar.” Melissa Draper, reportera de The News and Observer que había publicado un artículo cubriendo entrevistas durante el ensayo de este programa.
“I so enjoyed your performance Sunday. You played the audience beautifully and had everybody in the palms of your hands. You looked so happy to be up there! And then you delivered on the voice too. I got goosebumps in two of your pieces.”
“We’ve had house guests over the past several days. They were fortunate enough to join us for that outstanding presentation at Meredith. We all enjoyed it very much and want to thank you for all the hard work that it takes to deliver that fine performance.” Harry Everly.
“She brings so much to us all and touches our emotions with her renditions. She is a true virtuoso.” Wesley Doggett.

[ii]Other comments from Roy C. Dicks in regards to this program “ . . . .The most successful were three songs interpreted by Cuban-born soprano Teresa Fernandez. . . .
Chiquilin de Bachin. . . . Fernandez communicated the emotions with great expressiveness, while exhibiting fine control of high notes and ending dramatically on a held hummed note. (For this, she received a rare, mid-performance standing ovation.) The colorful accompaniment was "strings" only. . . .
Balada para un Loco. . . . The musicians gave this gripping melody, full of sharp chords and mesmerizing rhythms, a marvelous abandon. . . . Fernandez sounded like a Latin American Piaf in her richly characterized rendering.”
